On 19 May 2008 the President of the Republic of Belarus signed Decree No 280 «On Including Voluntary Non - Life Insurance Premiums into Expenditure on Production and Selling of Products , Goods ( Services )». This document entitles the underwriters signing voluntary insurance contracts to include their insurance premiums into expenditures on production and selling of goods and services, which has its effect on the underwriter’s taxation pattern. The types of voluntary insurance concerned include
- insurance against accidents and diseases when travelling abroad (by underwriting contracts with insurance companies that carry out international car, railway, waterway, sea and air transportation providing that the insured parties are individuals, who work in these underwritings by labor contracts and go abroad on a business trip);
- insurance of the property used in manufacturing (execution of work, provision of services), including land transport, air- and sea-craft, land waterways craft and mixed river-sea going ships;
- cargo insurance;
- insurance of civil responsibility or the carrier, insurance of civil responsibility or the carrier before custom authority;
- insurance of civil responsibility of ship-owners;
- marine insurance.
